Dalton's Blues by Andrew Scorah

I picked up a copy of Dalton’s Blues today and read it while walking on the treadmill. The pacing was solid, and the story was interesting. What I liked best was how Andrew Scorah opened and closed this story with a sense of completeness. Here’s how it went: Scorah dropped me straight into a Quentin Tarantino Reservoir Dogs type scene, and moved the plot quickly ahead reminding me what Dalton’s father had told him: Mark my words boy, carry on the way you’re going, you will see God before I do! Dalton’s father offered him some solid advice, because Dalton’s involved in a world of violence that includes uzis and drugs and even a ball peen hammer and ice pick. Ouch! I am not going to spoil the read and tell you how it ends. But what I will say is that the pace gets even faster at the end.

Pick up Dalton's Blues, get on the treadmill, and enjoy the read. Hey why not, at least you’ll end up exercising your brain and body. You’ll be glad you did.
